Schwarzman Honored by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto
Last week, Stephen A. Schwarzman, Blackstone Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder, was awarded the Order of the Aztec Eagle, Mexico’s highest honor for foreigners, by President Enrique Peña Nieto.
Schwarzman was given this award for his work on behalf of the U.S. in support of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement over the last year.
Commenting on the honor, Schwarzman said:
“I firmly believe that whenever someone is in a position to help our country on critical issues, there is an obligation to do so. I was pleased to have the opportunity to be helpful periodically in the trade discussions and appreciate receiving this important honor.”
