Mr. Plotkin is a Managing Director in the Infrastructure Group where he focuses on operations and asset management in the energy transition vertical.

Prior to joining Blackstone in 2022, Mr. Plotkin was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Clearway Energy Inc, and its predecessor, NRG Yield, Inc, a publicly listed energy infrastructure investor in and owner of primarily U.S. based renewable energy assets. From 2007 through 2016, Mr. Plotkin served in numerous leadership roles at NRG Energy Inc, including Senior Vice President, Finance and Strategy, Vice President and Head of Investor Relations, and Vice President of Strategy and M&A. Prior to his tenure at NRG Energy Inc, Mr. Plotkin worked in various other sectors including satellite communications, retail energy and began his career at Enron Corporation.

Mr. Plotkin currently serves on the Board of Directors for Tallgrass Energy. Mr. Plotkin received a BBA in Finance and Organizational Behavior from Southern Methodist University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma.
