David Corey is a Principal in Strategic Partners, Blackstone’s secondary private fund of funds business, which was acquired from Credit Suisse in August 2013. Mr. Corey focuses on originating, evaluating, structuring and negotiating secondary private equity transactions and sits on the Investment Committees of each of the Strategic Partners funds.
Before joining Strategic Partners in 2001, Mr. Corey worked as an attorney in the mergers & acquisitions departments of Davis, Polk & Wardwell in New York and Skadden Arps in Los Angeles.
Mr. Corey received a B.A. in History from Northwestern University, where he graduated cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Corey also earned a J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law, where he was a member of the California Law Review and a multiple Jurisprudence Award recipient. Mr. Corey sits on the Advisory Boards of partnerships managed by Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Co., FTV Capital and Scale Ventures. In addition, Mr. Corey serves on the Board of Directors for Juma Ventures.
