Joe Lohrer is the Head of U.S. Retail Sales for Blackstone Private Wealth Solutions. He leads a team of client service professionals in delivering Blackstone’s comprehensive platform of Alternative Investment and Private Market strategies including Private Equity, Real Estate, Credit, and Hedge Fund Solutions to retail clients. Joe joined Blackstone in 2011 focused on building and establishing strong partnerships supporting Private Bank, Wire House, Registered Investment Advisors and Independent distribution platforms with an emphasis on Alternative Investment education, service and new product development.
Joe began his career at Smith Barney in 1985 and held various home office and field positions prior to having his responsibilities expanded to National Sales Manager for Citi Asset Management. At Citi he built and managed a team of sales professionals covering multiple channels of distribution including wire house, bank, and insurance platforms and supported an industry leading mutual fund and separate account (SMA) business.
Joe joined Legg Mason in 2006 as part of Legg’s acquisition of Citi Asset Management where he was the Head of National Sales for the National Broker Dealer Channel and combined several sales forces to build out broad distribution initiatives and distribution of all Legg Mason products within wirehouses. The product vehicles included mutual funds, separately managed accounts, closed end funds, college savings plans, and alternative investments products.
Mr. Lohrer graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
