Ram Jagannath is a Senior Managing Director in Blackstone Growth (BXG), where he leads the group’s Global Healthcare efforts. Ram is also a member of the BXG Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Ram was a founding Partner of Navab Capital Partners (NCP), where he was head of the healthcare sector and a member of the firm’s Management and Investment Committees.
Prior to NCP, Ram was a Managing Director of The Carlyle Group in its flagship US Buyout private equity fund, focused exclusively on healthcare. During his twelve years at Carlyle, he worked broadly across the healthcare sector, including general healthcare services (payors and providers), pharma and pharma services, healthcare information technology, tech-enabled healthcare services, medical products, and diagnostics. Ram was a member of the teams which invested in One Medical Group, Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD), X-Co (the parent company of X-Chem and X-Rx), Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Healthscope Ltd., and HCR ManorCare. Prior to joining Carlyle, he worked at Genstar Capital and Thomas Weisel Capital Partners (now known as Tailwind Capital).
Ram received a B.S.E. in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering with a minor in Economics from Duke University. After Duke, he completed post-graduate research in Economic Development as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Zagreb in Croatia. He received a J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
Ram serves on the Board of Visitors of Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering and was previously a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
