This Global Job Applicant Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”) describes the types of personal data we obtain and process about individuals applying and/or being considered for a work with us (whether as an employee, intern, consultant, contractor or other type of worker), how we use the personal data, with whom we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available regarding our use of the personal data. This Privacy Notice also describes the measures we take to safeguard the personal data and how job applicants can contact us about our privacy practices.

If you choose not to provide all of the data that is requested for your application, our ability to consider your application may be limited.
 
In addition to the personal data we collect directly from you (e.g., in written / email correspondence or when you submit an application), we may obtain certain of the personal data listed above from third-party sources, as permitted by applicable law. It is in our legitimate interests to process personal data for the purposes described above, as appointing a suitable candidate to the role you are applying (or being considered) for would be benefit to the business and fulfil a business need.
 
Where required or permitted by applicable law, we will process your personal data to conduct pre-employment screening and background checks (as described above) in accordance with applicable legal requirements, such as obtaining your consent where required by law or relying on another legal basis, where permitted by law. All final decisions on candidates are made by Blackstone personnel and are not solely based on automated screening processes.
 
We may also use the personal data we collect to protect Blackstone against and prevent fraud, claims, and other liabilities and to comply with or enforce applicable legal requirements, industry standards, and our policies and terms. We use personal data for these purposes when it is necessary to protect, exercise, or defend our legal rights or when we are required to do so by applicable law.
 
In addition, we use personal data that you provide to us to take pre-contractual steps and complete the on boarding process if we offer you a position.
 
If we plan to use the personal data that you provide for another purpose, we will provide additional notice to inform you about the purposes for which we will use the personal data and our legal basis for doing so.

Automated Processing

We may use certain artificial intelligence tools (“AI Tools”) for our legitimate business interests. These interests include improving the efficiency, quality, and speed of our recruitment processes. These tools use artificial intelligence services that we license from third parties, including OpenAI and Harver. Personal data may be contained within the documents (such as your CV) and information uploaded to our AI Tools to assist with our recruitment processes; however, they are not used to solely automate decision making and the AI Tools will not be relied upon without human review for accuracy and appropriateness.

How We Share Personal Data

We may share the personal data that we collect about you with the Blackstone entity where you apply for a job, our
portfolio companies, as applicable, and any assigned recruiters who have recommended you to us. Also, we share applicant personal data with our headquarters, Blackstone Inc., located in the US, for legitimate business purposes, such as coordinating our recruitment activities and administering our job applicant databases.

In addition, we share personal data with our technology and service provider located in the US, who is hosting and managing our career portal on our behalf. From time to time, we may share your personal data with third-party service providers that assist us with recruitment tasks, conduct pre-employment background checks and social media screening (including through use of AI technology, subject to human review), conduct and interpret personality, cognitive, behavioural, and psychometric tests, make travel arrangements, and manage expense reimbursement for job applicants on our behalf. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent if we disclose any sensitive data about you to third parties.

We require our third-party service providers by contract to use personal data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and to implement appropriate data security and confidentiality obligations. We also may disclose the personal data we collect (i) if we are required or permitted to do so by law or legal process, for example, due to a court order or a request from a law enforcement agency, (ii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, (iii) in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraudulent or other illegal activity, and (iv) in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets (including in the event of a reorganization, dissolution, or liquidation), including as part of the due diligence process.

Data Transfers

We may transfer the personal data we collect about you to the United States and recipients in countries other than the country in which the information was originally collected, including to other entities of Blackstone (see Appendix A to our Blackstone Privacy Notice). Those countries may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information. Where we transfer personal data outside of Switzerland, the UK, the European Economic Area, or other territories subject to data transfer restrictions, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including by entering into the European Commission’s EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the data recipients. Data Retention

Blackstone will keep your personal data for the time period necessary to complete the job application process and the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, taking into account applicable statute of limitation periods and records retention requirements under applicable law. Inactive applicant accounts and records about unsuccessful job applicants are deleted in accordance with our records retention schedule.

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to, and rectification of the personal data we maintain about you, to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data or to object to that processing on grounds relating to your situation. In addition, you may have the right to request erasure of your personal information in certain circumstances provided by applicable law. Where provided by applicable law, technically feasible, and upon written request, we will help you export the personal data we process about you and transmit it to another company. Appendix A: California Job Applicant Privacy Notice

This California Job Applicant Privacy Notice supplements the Global Job Applicant Privacy Notice and describes the types of personal information we collect about California residents who apply for jobs with Blackstone (“Job Applicants”). Certain terms used in this Notice have the meanings given to them in the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020) and its implementing regulations (collectively, the “CCPA”).

Collection and Use of Personal Information

Blackstone may collect (and may have collected during the 12-month period prior to the Last Updated date of the Global Job Applicant Privacy Notice) the categories of personal information described in the “Personal Data We Collect” section of the Global Job Applicant Privacy Notice.       Blackstone does not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes personal information about Job Applicants.

      California Consumer Privacy Rights

        If you are a Job Applicant, you may have certain choices regarding your personal information, as described below.
        Access: You have the right to request, twice in a 12-month period, that we disclose to you the personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and sold or shared about you.
        Correction: You have the right to request that we correct the personal information we maintain about you, if that information is inaccurate.
        Deletion: You have the right to request that we delete certain personal information we have collected from you.

          Verifying Requests

            To help protect your privacy and maintain security, we will take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your personal information or complying with your access, deletion, or correction request. We may verify your identity by requiring you to authenticate your e-mail address or provide information about your prior interactions with us, such as positions for which you have applied. In addition, if you ask us to provide you with specific pieces of personal information, we may require you to sign a declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the Job Applicant whose personal information is the subject of the request.

            Additional Information

              If you choose to exercise any of your rights under the CCPA, you have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment by us. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may charge a reasonable fee to comply with your request.
