Tom Knechtel is a Managing Director with Blackstone Credit and Insurance (BXCI) based in New York.  He is focused on raising capital and managing client relationships across private and liquid credit on the west coast. 

Prior to joining Backstone in September 2025, Mr. Knechtel spent over 22 years focused exclusively on institutional fundraising for alternative investment funds.  Most recently, Mr. Knechtel led the North American Business Development and Investor Relations effort at Varde Partners.  Previously, he also held senior marketing positions at Verition Fund Management, Prosiris Capital Management and Eaton Partners. 

Mr. Knechtel received a BA in American Studies from Middlebury College.
