Rob Mayer is a Managing Director on the Blackstone Operating Team. He is the lead Operating Executive for Blackstone's Private Equity investments in the healthcare sector.

Before joining Blackstone in 2024, Mr. Mayer spent 8 years at UnitedHealth Group where he was most recently Senior Vice President & General Manager for Optum's Clinical Solutions/Value Based Care companies focused on serving Providers and Health Plans. Previously, he held roles at Optum leading Innovation, Health Plan services, and Payment Integrity. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mayer held strategy and operating roles at EmblemHealth, Ingenix, and AIM Healthcare.

Mr. Mayer received a BS in Occupational Therapy, magna cum laude, from East Carolina University.
