David Johnston is a Senior Managing Director and the Head of European Residential and Consumer Credit for Blackstone Credit and Insurance (BXCI) based in London.

Prior to joining Blackstone in 2025, Mr. Johnston worked at AB CarVal where he was co-head of the European Loan Portfolio team responsible for sourcing and managing credit opportunities across Europe. Prior to that, he worked at Lloyds Bank in their Business Support Unit and was a lawyer in the Banking and Finance teams of Jones Day and Mayer Brown.

Mr. Johnston holds a BA in Economic History from the University of Exeter and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law.
