Beyond Returns: Best Places to Work

Proud to see current and former portfolio companies on Fortune’s 2020 Best Places to Work in the U.S.

For the second year in a row, Blackstone’s former portfolio company Hilton was named Fortune’s #1 Best Place to Work in the U.S.  Current portfolio company Ultimate Software follows at #2, with Kronos making the top 100 as well.

We take pride in our investments – seeking to provide value for our investors beyond returns and strengthen our communities – and we’re pleased to see our portfolio companies on this list.

Hilton is the first and only hospitality company to achieve the Number 1 ranking, and to do so two years in a row. Through the course of our 11 year ownership, Hilton doubled in size and today has 430,000 team members. In 2019, it was also named a top company for diversity and the #1 Workplace for Women. Since 2008, the company has globally reduced carbon emissions by 30 percent, waste by 32 percent and water consumption by 22 percent. We’re pleased to see Hilton, among our other past portfolio companies continue to thrive beyond our ownership.

Ultimate Software’s “people first” culture has landed the company in the top 10 of Fortune’s nationwide list for the fourth consecutive year. Ultimate Software fosters career and personal growth through programs, mentorship and opportunities throughout the firm. This year’s #2 ranking follows more than 40 awards and honors Ultimate Software has earned in the past year, including topping both Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Technology and Best Workplaces for Millennials. Kronos’ standing on Fortune’s Best Places to Work list follows its recognition as a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award winner recognizing Best Places to Work in 2020. With its innovative programs to cultivate and reward great managers, it’s no wonder 95 percent of employees are proud to work at Kronos. Blackstone knows it takes more than capital to build great companies – it takes great people. We’re glad to see these values reflected in some of our current and former investments.
