LONDON, UK – 27 October 2025 – Blackstone (NYSE:BX) today announced that Michele Rabà will join the firm in April 2026 as Head of European Corporate Private Equity.
In this role, Mr. Rabà will oversee Blackstone’s corporate private equity activities in Europe, where it invests through its flagship private equity strategy, Blackstone Capital Partners, and its long-dated private equity strategy, Blackstone Core Equity Partners. Blackstone has been active in Europe for over 25 years and has built a leading private equity business in the region.
Mr. Rabà will assume the role held by Lionel Assant since 2012. Mr. Assant was recently elevated to serve as Global co-Chief Investment Officer of Blackstone where he works across the broader Blackstone private equity platform to shape investment decision making and strategies. Blackstone’s other private equity activities in Europe, including Tactical Opportunities and Growth, will continue to be led by Qasim Abbas and Paul Morrissey, respectively.
Blackstone has the world’s largest private equity platform with $396 billion in assets under management. The firm invests globally in both established and growth businesses, combining a thematic investment approach with deep sector expertise.
In Europe, Blackstone has over $350 billion in assets overall, and it sees the opportunity to invest in more than $500 billion of assets across the region over the next decade.

Mr. Rabà was previously Lead Partner, European Private Equity at Apollo, which he joined in 2010. He started his career at Goldman Sachs International in London in the Financial Institutions Group. Mr. Rabà graduated from Bocconi University with both a BA and MSc in Finance.
