Blackstone Appoints Deputy Managing Director for Mumbai Office


New York, August 16, 2005: The Blackstone Group today announced the appointment of Javed Khan as Deputy Managing Director of the firm’s recently established India office in Mumbai. Mr. Khan, who is currently based in London, will shortly be re-locating to Mumbai.

Mr. Khan was previously a Director with DLJ Merchant Banking where he has been responsible for private equity investments in Europe for the past five years. Prior to that he was with DLJ’s Investment Banking group in London and New York for a total of seven years.

Mr. Khan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics at The Wharton School and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the School of Engineering. Mr. Khan also holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
