Managing Director
Sumit Malik is a Managing Director in the Infrastructure Group, where he focuses primarily on investments in the energy and digital infrastructure sectors. Since joining Blackstone, Mr. Malik has been involved in the execution of several investments, including Invenergy Renewables, AEP Renewables, Phoenix Tower International, Autostrade per I'Italia, and a partnership with NextEra Energy. Mr. Malik currently is a Representative at Invenergy Renewables and previously served on the Board of Directors at Phoenix Tower International.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Malik worked in private equity at Warburg Pincus in New York, where he was involved in the execution of investments in the energy and financial services sectors, and served on the Board of Directors at Santander Asset Management Chile. Previously, Mr. Malik also held positions at Viking Global Investors and Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Mr. Malik graduated from Harvard College, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with an AB in Applied Mathematics with Economics and Computer Science and a minor in English. Mr. Malik also received an SM with Advanced Standing in Applied Mathematics from the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
