Once home to Milan’s Stock Exchange and the headquarters of the Italian postal service, Piazza Cordusio is a high-quality, mixed-use property located in the heart of Central Milan. The building was vacant when Blackstone acquired it in 2015, allowing us to invest in and completely reposition the asset. We saw an opportunity that others did not, resulting from limited levels of new office supply in Central Milan, international retailers’ heightened focus on flagship stores in prime locations, and growing tourist visits to Milan. Blackstone has worked to upgrade the property and attract top tenants to the space, including Starbucks Roastery, the first Starbucks in Italy and the first Roastery in Europe.
