Matthew Breen is a Managing Director in Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities Group and is based in San Francisco. Mr. Breen is involved in sourcing, evaluating and executing private equity and growth investment opportunities in the technology sector.

Prior to rejoining Blackstone in 2021, Mr. Breen was a Managing Director in the Strategic Advisory Group at PJT Partners (formed by a spin-off from Blackstone in 2015) where he was responsible for advising emerging and established companies, financial sponsors and growth investors in the technology industry. Prior to PJT Partners, Mr. Breen joined Blackstone in 2008 as a founding member of the Technology M&A practice in Menlo Park. Prior to that, he worked in investment banking at Citigroup in Palo Alto. Mr. Breen has been involved in many significant corporate M&A transactions, equity and debt financings, and private equity investments during his career.

Mr. Breen received a B.S. in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Colorado where he graduated with distinction.
