Blackstone Recognized as Top Corporate Fundraiser for LLS Team in Training

This year, over 90 Blackstone employees participated in Team in Training events to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (“LLS”). Blackstone is pleased to announce that, for the 6th year in a row, the Blackstone Team in Training was recognized as the Top Corporate Fundraising Team, raising $482,000 collectively. Additionally, Blackstone employees Joe Baratta and Glenn Alba both received Top Individual Fundraiser awards for raising $16,254 and $10,053 respectively.

Since 2008, the Blackstone team, with support from the Blackstone Charitable Foundation, has raised over $2 million for LLS through Team in Training (“TNT”) and over 450 Blackstone employees have participated in TNT sponsored century rides and marathon events in that time. LLS aims to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The money raised will help fund lifesaving blood cancer research around the world as well as provide free information and support services.

The Blackstone Team competed in the Rock n’ Roll San Diego Marathon and Half Marathon, the New York Half Marathon and America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride to raise awareness for LLS. Captained by Kate Hogan, Brian Gavin, Joe Baratta, Glenn Alba, Bill Murphy, Mai La, Lauren Hubbert, Quincy Sewall, Jessica Mayer, Nadim El Gabbani and Liz Kruse, the team ran, walked, and rode in honor of Blackstone colleagues Craig Powell and Brian Nabatian, whose lives were taken prematurely by blood cancers.  Blackstone also runs and rides in honor of all those colleagues, friends, and family who have battled or continue to battle cancer today.
