For the 9th year in a row, Blackstone joined City Harvest to combat hunger in New York City, raising a total of $190,396 for the “Skip Lunch Fight Hunger” campaign – more than the firm has raised over the past four years combined. With the support of the Blackstone Charitable Foundation, Blackstone employees nearly tripled their contribution from last year and ranked #1 among over 200 teams who participated in the City Harvest campaign.
Through the efforts of Blackstone and other teams across the city, “Skip Lunch Fight Hunger” raised $1 million in 2014 – enough for City Harvest to help feed more than 45,000 hungry children and their families for the summer. For more than a decade, “Skip Lunch Fight Hunger” has made a critical difference in City Harvest’s mission to feed children and families. Across its programs, City Harvest will collect 46 million pounds of excess food this year from restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, manufacturers, and farms.
