Blackstone Honored at the 2014 American Financial Technology Awards, CTO Bill Murphy Wins “Best Technology Executive, Buy Side”

For the second year in a row, Blackstone was the only firm to win multiple awards at the American Financial Technology Awards (AFTAs). Hosted by Waters Magazine at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square on Monday evening, winning the “Best Technology Executive, Buy Side” award was Blackstone’s Chief Technology Officer, Bill Murphy, and "Best IT Integration Initiative” award for “BX Workflows,” which streamlined business processes for Strategic Partners Fund Solutions, which Blackstone acquired in 2013.  The AFTAs recognize excellence in the deployment and management of financial technology within the asset management and investment banking communities.

The award of "Best IT Integration Initiative" is given to firms which have successfully combined the technology of two or more firms such that the end result is stronger than the sum of its parts.
