Blackstone Donates More Than 1,800 Pounds of Food to City Harvest

Through our partnership with City Harvest, Blackstone is pleased to report that, in the first quarter of 2014, our 345 Park Avenue Dining Room has donated 1,815 pounds of food to help feed New Yorkers facing hunger.

With its fleet of trucks, bikes, and over 4,000 volunteers, City Harvest collects leftover food from restaurants, corporate cafeterias, and farms and distributes it to over 500 emergency food programs in communities across the five boroughs.  City Harvest collects about 126,000 pounds of food each day and serves almost two million New Yorkers a year.

Serving New York since 1982, City Harvest is New York’s largest private effort to combat hunger, with all financial support coming from individuals, corporations, and private foundations.
