For the 10th year in a row, Blackstone joined City Harvest to combat hunger in New York City, raising a total of $155,074 for the “Skip Lunch Fight Hunger” campaign this year. For the 4th year, Blackstone ranked #1 among over 200 teams who participated in the City Harvest campaign. Over the past five years, with the support of the Blackstone Charitable Foundation, Blackstone has raised a total of $496,065.
Through the efforts of Blackstone and other teams across the city, “Skip Lunch Fight Hunger” raised over $1 million in 2015, helping to feed tens of thousands of hungry children and their families for the summer. For more than a decade, “Skip Lunch Fight Hunger” has made a critical difference in City Harvest’s mission to feed children and families. Across its programs, City Harvest will collect 50 million pounds of excess food this year from restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, manufacturers, and farms.
