Simon Brodie is a Vice President in the Restructuring & Reorganization Group, and is based in London. Since joining Blackstone in 2009, Mr. Brodie has worked on a number of situations including Deutsche Annington, EMI and Viridian.
Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Brodie was a lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where he acted for a range of clients including debtors, creditors, officeholders and financing providers. Transactions on which he worked include the restructurings of Eurotunnel, GAL and Polestar, and he advised the administrators of Entertainment UK (part of the Woolworths group) and Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander. Between 2007 and 2008 Mr. Brodie was seconded to Goldman Sachs International, where he worked on the restructuring of several structured investment vehicles including SIV Portfolio (formerly Cheyne Finance) and Rhinebridge.
Mr. Brodie attended Oxford University, where he was a demy (scholar) of Magdalen College and received a First Class Honours degree.
