Since joining Blackstone in 2006, Mr. Simon has advised on a variety of transactions and strategic assignments, primarily in the industrials sector. These transactions include, among others, the sale of Central Parking Systems to a consortium led by Kohlberg & Co., the sale of Maaco Enterprises to Driven Brands, a strategic advisory assignment for Meridian Automotive Systems, advising certain creditors of LyondellBasell during its Chapter 11 reorganization and advising PSA Peugeot Citroen on the establishment of a new joint venture in China.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Simon spent nine years at General Motors, where he had a variety of financial and strategic assignments, including serving as Manager of Business Development at General Motors’ New York Treasurer’s Office. In that role he worked on several divestitures and strategic business partnerships, including General Motors’ sale of its locomotive manufacturing business to Greenbriar Equity Group and its hybrid engine development partnership with DaimlerChrysler and BMW.
Mr. Simon received a BA in Engineering from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
