Juan Sierra is a Director in Blackstone Advisory Partners LP and is based in London.
Since joining Blackstone in 2008, Mr. Sierra has been involved in several transactions, including the sale of BuyVIP! to Amazon.com, advising BAA on its strategic review, the sale of Abengoa’s stake in Telvent, representing an ad-hoc committee of bondholders on the restructuring of Preem Petroleum, advising the senior lenders of Madagascar Oil in its financial restructuring, and advising the Board of Directors of Convenience Food Services in the company’s recapitalization.
Before joining Blackstone in 2008, Mr. Sierra was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance in Spain. Prior to that, he was part of the Latin American Restructuring team at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he assisted during four years in advising on a variety of restructuring transactions throughout the Latin American Region. Mr. Sierra’s prior advisory transactions included the financial restructuring of Paconsa (Spain), the financial restructuring and sale of Labiana Life Sciences (Spain), the reorganization and sale of non-core assets of Postobon (Colombia), the financial restructurings of CYDSA (Mexico), and Hylsamex (Mexico), and Orinoco Iron’s financial restructuring and capital raise (Venezuela).
Mr. Sierra received his MBA from INSEAD and his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from CUNEF in Spain. Mr. Sierra is fluent in Spanish and English.
