is a Vice President at Blackstone Advisory Partners, Asia. He is currently based in Hong Kong.
Since joining Blackstone Mr. Cheng has been involved in advising on M&A and restructuring transactions in the Asia Region. Some of his previous transaction experience include advising Taiwan High Speed Rail on its US$ 15bn debt restructuring, AIG on its sale of Nan Shan Life to Primus Financial and China Strategic Hld., the planned IPO of AIA and its subsequent US$35.5 billion proposed sale to Prudential plc, Chinalco’s investment in Rio Tinto’s iron ore asset in Guinea, and Peugeot on its Joint Venture with Chang’an Auto.
Before joining Blackstone in 2008, Mr. Cheng was an associate in investment banking at Lehman Brothers in Hong Kong where he advised on a variety of capital raising and M&A advisory transactions primarily focused in the Industrials sector. Mr. Cheng has also previously worked at Henkel Corporation and Deloitte Consulting.
Mr. Cheng received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and International Business from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He has also received an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business specializing in Corporate Finance.
