James Lock is a Managing Director in the Real Estate Group and is based in London.  Mr. Lock is responsible for Blackstone’s real estate acquisitions in the U.K. 

Since joining Blackstone in 2011, Mr. Lock has been involved in a number of Blackstone’s investments in the office and retail sectors including Chiswick Park, Broadgate, Devonshire Square and Stratford City, and Blackpool Shopping Centers. Mr. Lock has also led the acquisition of Blackstone’s U.K. industrial portfolio, totaling c. $1.1bn TEV.  

Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Lock was Head of Capital Markets at Ballymore Group, a pan-European property company, and a Senior Director at CB Richard Ellis.

Mr. Lock received honors in Real Estate Management from Oxford Brookes University.
