Real Estate Debt Strategies
is a Senior Vice President and Controller of Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies. Mr. Buffa is involved in accounting, financial reporting and investor reporting for the Blackstone Real Estate Special Situations funds and investment entities.
Since joining Blackstone in 2005, Mr. Buffa has most recently headed the international corporate finance function for the firm’s international subsidiaries operating primarily in the European and Asia Pacific regions out of London. Previously, he was involved in the accounting, budgeting and financial reporting for Blackstone Administrative Services. Mr. Buffa has been involved with various strategic planning projects including the firm’s initial public offering.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Buffa worked at Credit Suisse Asset Management, DLJ Asset Management and First Dominion Capital LLC as a Vice President and Controller in various capacities responsible for financial reporting, accounting, tax, strategic planning and budgeting. Prior to joining DLJ, Mr. Buffa was a Controller at Emmes and Company, a real estate investment company, and in Public Accounting where he provided auditing, accounting and consulting services, primarily to real estate investment companies.
Mr. Buffa received a BBA in Accounting from Hofstra University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
