Blackstone Climbers Raise Over $64,000 to Combat Domestic Violence

by Ali Yousuf | Jan 03, 2013

More than 70 Blackstone employees joined over 1,000 climbers to support inMotion’s Story by Story stair climb to end domestic violence.  The third annual event was again held at 1411 Broadway, a 42-story skyscraper in the heart of midtown Manhattan. The event was a tremendous success raising nearly $600,000.

Employees from across the firm raised in excess of $64,000 to support inMotion’s critical mission of providing free legal services to low-income women and their families in New York City.  Equity Office Properties, a Blackstone portfolio company, was again one of the prime sponsors and host of the event at 1411 Broadway.

InMotion provides crucial legal protections to women and children who are victims of domestic abuse, helping them make a fresh start and end the cycle of domestic violence.  The nonprofit focuses on reaching women living in immigrant communities who are isolated by language and cultural barriers. Tim Coleman serves as Co-Vice Chair of inMotion’s Board of Directors and Erik Lisher is a member of the Junior Advisory Board.
