In 2007, The Blackstone Charitable Foundation was established with substantial commitments from the firm’s employees at the time of the IPO. Our senior managing directors committed significant personal funds, which can now be directed toward philanthropic activities in the communities in which we live and work.
The Blackstone Charitable Foundation invests $50 million to support entrepreneurship globally
The Blackstone Charitable Foundation has launched The Blackstone Entrepreneurship Initiative a five-year, $50 million commitment to foster entrepreneurship and economic recovery in communities hardest hit by the global economic crisis.
The Foundation has also made its first major grant for this new initiative. In partnership with New Economy Initiative the Foundation has awarded $2 million to the University of Miami to bring “Blackstone LaunchPad” to two Metro Detroit Colleges. Read more…
